accessibility study The public, businesses owners and service provides are being invited to an accessibility seminar next month.

It’s being hosted by Alfred Spencer, the Director of the Accessibility Standards Advisory Committee on May 20th in North Bay.

Local Resident Stuart Kidd is a former member of the committee.

He says the seminar is a good eye opener for those in charge of businesses the community as they cover a couple of good businesses practices.

He says “one is to be fair and equitable with people that have limitations that are obvious, or not obvious. Even more basic than that, is the fact that business is business, you have to get people into your store that are interested in buying something and making it as easy as possible so that they can do so.”

The event coincides with the ten year anniversary of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act coming into effect.
