atvsYou could soon be riding an ATV on parts of Lakeshore Drive, Marshall Avenue, Pinewood Park Drive and Booth Road.

Council has asked staff to create some by-laws pertaining to regulations and safety of ATV’s on some city streets.

Councillor Derek Shogren says it has been discussed for a couple of years and it’s time to move forward and see if it’s doable.

He says they need to capitalize on that side of the tourism industry.

Shogren says it could potentially generate millions of dollars to the local economy.

He says this would allow ATV riders to access hotels, restaurants and gas stations.
