Council settles the great debate on the water meter rates

North Bay City Council has ended the water meter payment debate.

An 8-3 vote has approved a 60-fixed-40 variable split cost.

Mayor Al McDonald says now that the payment has been decided, they have to move to a more equitable position between all three classes – Industrial, Commercial, and Residential.

McDonald says the water meters will be turned on September 1st this year. McDonald says this issue shows council willingness to work together.
