relay_spotlight_621This years honorary survivor for the 2015 Relay For Life in North Bay is someone who has fought cancer for a quarter of a century.

Angela Johnston first found out she had cancer when she was 24 and she says so much has changed since then and now.

Johnston says events like Relay For Life raise funds that benefit the people who are going through cancer treatment. She was asked about any advice she has for people and says learn to recognize the signals your body is sending to you.

Johnston says tell your doctor everything and get checked  regularly.

She says Relay For life is a chance for cancer survivors to celebrate the fact that they’ve beaten cancer, but it’s also an opportunity for the entire community to get behind an event that does so much good.

Johnston says she’s doing well and she had a great checkup a couple weeks ago.
