abbey-paloozaFor the past several years, the Hopkins family has turned their home into a market place for an evening.

It’s called Abbey-Palooza and organizer Amy Hopkins says it’s a way to help raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Her daughter Abbey was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at just two years old.

The 6th annual Abbey-Palooza took place yesterday (Thursday).

The event sees vendors invited into their home for family and friends to shop.

Hopkins says they have been able to raise $25,000 in the first five years.

She says fundraising makes a difference.

Meantime, Hopkins says when Abbey was younger the event was more like a party event to her, but now she’s become quite involved in the annual fundraiser.
