East Ferris Council approves their 2015 budget

East Ferris council has approved their 2015 budget, which includes an overall tax levy increase of 6.83 per cent.

The municipality says most of that increase, just over 4.5 per cent, is due to measures beyond their control.

That includes increases in policing costs, levies from agencies, boards and commissions along with a decrease in provincial funding under the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund.

In terms of residential taxes, the annual increase amounts to $19.38 per $100,000 of property assessment.
