Communications Officer Bob Pipe says compared to last year, first choice applicant numbers at Nipissing are up about 37 percent while total applications are up about 24 percent.

Those are the preliminary numbers from the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre.<!–more–>

Pipe says there are a few reasons why, pointing out the student recruitment team has done a fantastic job making a personal connection with prospective students, the university invested more in recruiting and marketing, plus there’s more flexibility in the Education program too.

He says while this is positive news, they are preliminary numbers.

Pipe says they’ll have a better idea where they stand after the application deadline of June 1st.
