A city wide garden contest is underway

This year’s North Bay Blooms Garden contest is underway. Nominations are now open for the best garden in North Bay.

Canada Post is once again involved with the mail carriers helping out with the nomination process by letting North Bay Blooms know about the gardens they see on their regular mail delivery routes.

Chair of North Bay Blooms Geri Openshaw says from there they take the nominations they get and whittle the number down to a top ten and then the top 3 with help from the North Bay Horticultural Society.

Openshaw says the winner will be announced on July 23rd with nominations being accepted until June 28th.

Melissa Basquil is the defending champion.

Also no back yard gardens will be nominated as they are on private property and can’t be viewed from public property.
