Last week, the Ontario government awarded $209-million in research funding to a range of projects including developing new M-R-I technology and better understanding antibiotic resistance.

The Youth Development Through Sport and Physical Activity Lab at Nipissing University is receiving over $45,000 through the Research Infrastructure program.

Dr. Mark Bruner‘s research will explore how team sports shape adolescents’ development and participation.

This will help coaches and instructors implement effective strategies to promote a more positive experience for youth.

Province-wide, officials say projects were evaluated through a peer review process and chosen based on their research excellence and economic and societal benefits for Ontario.
