Open house to garner ideas for the future of the former Tweedsmuir school

An open house goes tonight (Thursday) at the building that used to house Tweedsmuir Public School on Lakeshore Drive.

Developer Christian Fortin says they want to put something there that is a good fit for the neighborhood and they want to talk to the neighbors about it.

Fortin says nothing has been decided at this point.

He says the open house is set for tonight from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at 176 Lakeshore Drive.

Fortin says it is zoned commercial and there’s no desire to change it.

He says the building was purchased last week from the Near North District School Board, and they want to see how to best utilize the space that will be a good fit for the neighborhood.
