Gathering PlaceThe Gathering Place has launched a new program called “Adopt the Garden“.

Chaylene Grieve-Saunders is the Director of the Gathering Place Garden and she says there are three ways local businesses and individuals can adopt.

She says they can adopt a flower for $25, an edible plant for $50 or a Garden Bed for $100 and receive a certificate.

She says 100% of the donation, goes towards the Gathering Place Garden.

Grieve-Saunders says you can adopt a part of the Garden by going online to https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/the-gathering-place-north-bays-community-soup-kitchen or by stopping by their organization, located on Algonquin Ave. at McLaren St.

Grieve-Saunders says if you can’t afford to donate, you can also volunteer your time to help maintain the garden.

They meet every Tuesday and Thursday when in season.

Each year, the Gathering Place Garden looks to grow over 1,000 lbs of produce to serve at the soup kitchen.
