North Bay Police logoNorth Bay Police have charged a 33 year old city man with sexual assault after an incident over the weekend.

Police were called to a downtown residence before 5:30 Saturday morning after reports of a heated argument involving two men.

The men were at a female victim’s residence for a gathering Friday evening and it’s alleged a man got upset when he witnessed the other man sexually assault the woman.

That’s one of several incidents police responded to on the weekend.

There were a total of 256 calls for service to police with nine people charged with a variety of offences.

They include public intoxication, assault, possession of marijuana, theft under $5,000 and breach counts.

 

 

Meantime, North Bay Police received a report of a theft from a parked vehicle on the weekend.

Police say between 11:30 Saturday night and 3:30 Sunday morning, a window of a vehicle parked at a residence on Morin Street was smashed and a purse, that was left inside the vehicle, was taken.
