OPP logo Ontario Provincial PoliceNorth Bay OPP say while the majority of motorists are driving accordingly, there continues to be some who are not getting the message about drinking and driving, speeding and distracted driving.

Police say 110 speeding charges along with 31 other Highway Traffic Act offences, including Distracted Driving were issued over the Canada Day long weekend holiday period.

There was also one impaired driver and another who received a 3 day licence suspension.

OPP also say while the holiday was fatal-free there were 12 collisions with three injuries.

Seven of those incidents involved wildlife.

Meantime, on the water, one charge of not having a PFD and two charges of open liquor were filed.
