North Bay Police logoCity police are receiving positive feedback from Callander residents and Council with the work they’re doing in the community.

Deputy Police Chief Shawn Devine made that comment while presenting the 2015 report on Policing in Callander.

He says they have a unique contract with the community of Callander.

Devine says “it’s probably the only contract of its sorts in Ontario, and being as close as we are it also provides a good relationship. Crime doesn’t always happen in a vacuum, so what’s going on in Callander could have an effect in North Bay.”

He says North Bay Police patrol Callander over staggered 12 hour shifts.

Devine says they also found Callander is a community that cares about what’s going on.

He says people are aware of what their neighbours are doing and have concerns over traffic issues and vandalism.
