There’s plenty of interesting stats included in an Oracle poll involving the North Bay Police Service, released earlier this week.

63% of Callander residents and 67% of residents in North Bay want more cruisers on the street while in Callander 49% want more snowmobile patrols while 81% of people surveyed in North Bay want foot patrol officers downtown.

Meantime, the survey also showed that 64% of North Bay residents and 68% of residents in Callander said yes to an increase in the police budget to hire more officers, increase visibility or maintain the current level of service.

Police Chief Paul Cook says there hasn’t been a dramatic increase in sworn or civilian personnel in the 12 years he’s been chief.

 

 

Cook also says it doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll be asking for a tax increase.
