Moose in Powassan area

moose Powassan OPP is alerting motorists of a Moose wandering around Highway 11 between Watson Road and the weigh scales, Municipality of Callander.

Police say on July 11th, a calf was hit and killed by a vehicle in the same areas and the mother is looking for her calf.

They say drivers should be constantly scanning the road ahead, reduce speed when observing an animal, and use high beams at night.

As well, stop and let animals cross the road and never assume they will move out of the way.
