OPP logo Ontario Provincial PoliceAn update from OPP after a couple of collisions on Friday morning.

An 18 year old from North Bay has been charged with having an insecure load, under the Highway Traffic Act. This after a motorcycle on Highway 17 West lost control when he swerved to miss an obstacle that fell out of a vehicle. The motorcyclist suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Meantime, a 23 year old New Brunswick man was charged with unsafe lane change after an incident on Highway 11, just south of North Bay.

A driver who missed his turn changed lanes to get to the emergency turn around, pulling in front of another southbound vehicle causing the collision.

Police say he was also informed that only authorized vehicles — like police, ambulance and fire along with utility vehicles and tow trucks — can use the turnaround.
