Police donationMembers of North Bay Police are helping out the local branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association. On Wednesday, they donated over 11 hundred dollars in memory of former constable Andrew Keating who passed away last year. Constable Zach Dagg says they raised the money by having a barbecue and selling memorial wrist bands and received assistance from West Nipissing Police and OPP officers as well. He says it doesn’t matter your line of work if you have a mental health concern you should get it out in the open.

Dagg says there are in house services available for officers at North Bay Police for that.

George Kristolaitis is the executive director of the local branch.

He says many segments of society including police are understanding the importance of sharing mental health concerns.
