Beach VolleyballSeveral funding announcements were made by MP Jay Aspin on Friday. He made 3 announcements at the site of  North Bay’s new beach volleyball courts. First 50 thousand dollars to the local Vision Volleyball Club to help build a new beach volleyball courts complex on Oak Street. The facility will be known as the Canor Molson Sand Centre and is hosting competitions this weekend in next.  

On Thursday,  the province announced it will be  providing 100-thousand from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation to help with the construction of the courts, bleachers, and change room facilities.

Aspin also announced 40 thousand dollars in funding to support next weekend’s NORCECA  volleyball event in North Bay.

The provincial announcement  was for 15 Thousand Dollars. 

Meantime, Aspin made a national announcement.

Volleyball Canada will receive 1.8 million to help grow the sport.

As well, Aspin made three other announcements-910 Thousand for Ontario Wood Works to assist with programming, 45 Thousand Dollars to the North Bay and District Chamber Commerce to implement an invstment program and 30 Thousand to the North Bay and District Multi Cultural Centre to hire an intern.
