That’s because the teams head coach and two of its players are competing at the event. Coach Stan Butler is the coach of Canada’s under 18 squad and forward Zach Poirier is on Team Canada.  Newcomer Cam Dineen is on Team USA.

Games will be held in both Bratislava in Slovakia and Breclav in the Czech Republic.

Both Canada and the US have tune up games on Saturday.

Canada plays Slovakia and The United States meets the Czech Republic.
