pink ribbon Those involved with the CIBC Run for the Cure are gearing up for another event in October.

The fundraising is underway this week as it is Paint Canada Pink Week.

Devon Bailey, the fundraising coordinator of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation says there’s lots on the go including the selling of pink drinks at several area restaurants including Cecil’s Brew house and Kitchen, The Clarion Resort Pinewood Park and McFerguson’s Bistro.

As well, there’s the Pink-Nic lemonade stand at the Parkette on Main on Friday next to the local branch of the CIBC.

Funds raised from the selling of pink lemonade between 11-2 will support the run and Kevin and Big Mike of KISS 100.5 will be doing their part.  They say if a Thousand Dollars is raised this week Big Mike will dye his beard pink and Kevin will dye his hair.

Bailey says this event continues to be supported.  Bailey says $10 million was raised from runs in Ontario last year and the national number is $25 Million. $140,000 was raised locally in 2014.
