police stopA domestic incident on Tuesday morning in North Bay has led to charges for a 31 year old Sturgeon Falls man.

City police say they were contacted by a concerned citizen about a heated verbal argument between a man and a woman around 11:45am in the bush area near the tracks off Main Street West.

The man is facing seven charges including forcible confinement and assault.

It’s alleged the woman was physically assaulted, prevented from leaving the area and hit with a tree branch.

Police say the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The accused is not being identified to protect the identity of the victim.
