Miles Liberati has an opportunity to tryout for his home town Pittsburgh Penguins this season.

The Cheswick, Pennsylvania native will take part in the Penguins rookie tournament from September 10th-13th in London, Ontario.

The 20 year old was originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks, but did not sign with the team and became a free agent.

Liberati played alongside Sidney Crosby and Evgeny Malkin in a 3-on-3 practice earlier this week. Should he return to the Troops he would be an overage player in the OHL this coming season.

Liberati had a very productive OHL season last year with 11 goals to go along with 27 assists. He was also a plus-21
