The usual holiday closures are in effect

Labour Day is one of 9 Stat holiday’s in Ontario and that means most retail operations and government offices are closed today (Monday.

City Hall is shut down, meaning council’s meeting will take place tomorrow.

Those businesses that open illegally can be fined between $500 and $50,000.

Meantime, there are exceptions including gas stations, convenience stores and tourist operators.

Also of note, there are no city transit buses running today and there’s no garbage or recycling pick-up either.

Regular pick-up is now delayed a day for the rest of the week.

Also of note, the landfill is also closed.
