North Bay Police logoA busy weekend for city police with 259 calls for service resulting in 13 people being charged.

Offences included robbery, assault with a weapon, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, impaired, break, enter and theft, domestic assault, theft under $5,000 and breach.

One of those incidents involved an argument that turned violent in a McKeown Avenue restaurant’s bathroom.

Police say it involved two men known to each other.

It’s alleged that around 2 am Sunday a victim was struck with a hand tool, threatened and told to turn over the contents of his backpack.

He was then told to lock himself in a stall.

After an arrest was made, police say 19.4 grams of suspected marijuana and 5.8 grams of suspected cocaine were also seized.

Charges against an 18 year old city man include assault with a weapon, robbery with a weapon, uttering threats, forcible confinement, possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine.

 

Meantime, North Bay Police have charged a 31 year old city man with assault with a weapon and breach after an argument at a downtown party turned violent around 9 pm Saturday.

A victim was allegedly assaulted with a metal broom handle and regured medical treatment for his non-life threatening injuries.

 

Two city men, ages 20 and 21 are facing charges of break, enter and theft and theft under $5,000 after an incident early Saturday morning.

It’s alleged two men entered a downtown retirement residence and left with a number of food items, then entered a parked vehicle and took a smart phone from the Tackaberry Drive area.

 

And city police report an 18 year old North Bay man has been charged with trespass by night and break and enter with intent after a weekend incident.

It’s alleged the backyards of numerous residential properties on Ski Club Road were entered early Saturday morning with the door of one residence kicked in and damaged.
