cupe_national_270x159_01_01The North Bay and District Labour Council says the P3 partnership method is not the way to go to invest in public facilities and services.

P3 stands for the public-private partnership and Labour Council President Henri Grioux says they will hold a public forum tonight to discuss this, and the alternatives.

Giroux says this method is costing jobs.

He says eight years ago they built the hospital as a P3 and they tried to ring the alarm bells then to say there will be a lot of bed closures and staff cuts; and that’s what is happening eight years later.

Giroux says the forum features four guest speakers including CUPE National President Paul Moist, and Provincial President Fred Hahn.

The event starts at 7pm at the Best Western on Lakeshore.
