pink cakeThink Pink Week wraps up in North Bay today (Friday) with a flag rasing.

The co-director of the North Bay CIBC Run For The Cure, Melanie Gainforth, says it will take place at Fire Station One on Princess Street.

She says this is Think Pink Day and everyone is encouraged to wear their pink today in support of breast cancer research.

Earlier this week the mayor proclaimed this week as being Think Pink Week.

Gainforth says this week’s events are all in advance of the CIBC Run For The Cure coming up on October 4th at North Bay’s Waterfront.

She says this is the 11th year of the event and when it’s over the community will have raised over $1-million to support the fight against breast cancer.

Gainforth says 1 in 9 women get diagnosed with breast cancer and it affects men too.
