hunting

OPP have some tips for you if you are about to go hunting. Police say they respond to reports on a regular basis of lost or overdue hunters. They say to avoid these instances always let someone know where you’re going and when you’re returning.

As well, wear hunter orange so you be easily identified, never drink while hunting and if you do get lost look for shelter and stay where you are.

Police also say to have extra food and clothing and a flashlight and first aid kit.

If you are on the water wear a PFD, personal flotation device, and never overload your boat so it doesn’t capsize. And just in case have a communication device with you at all times.

And, if you’re driving to your destination unload your firearms and ensure your permits to hunt are up to date and with you.
