The North Bay Battalion were able to put a pair of goals on the scoreboard, but it wasn’t enough in a 4-2 loss to the Kitchener Rangers.

In the third period they trailed 4-0 before Brett McKenzie and then Miles Liberati got the team on the scoreboard.

Battalion Head Coach Stan Butler says the Troops need to overall be tougher against their opponents.

He says “we just got outworked from the drop of the puck and the reality is we’re just an easy team to play against. Quite frankly we’ve never been an easy team to play against and unless the guys are willing to pay the price it doesn’t matter what the message is.”

Jake Smith made 32 saves on 36 shots in net for the Troops.

The Battalion allowed one goal in the first, two more in the second and the final tally in the third.

The Battalion are back on the ice tonight at Memorial Gardens as they host the Sarnia Sting.
