time to careHundreds of people across Ontario are taking part in a ceremony of remembrance today (Thursday) at Queen’s Park, including health care workers from North Bay, New Liskeard, Temiskaming and Sturgeon Falls.

They’re remembering the 29 long-term care residents killed as a result of violence by another resident in Ontario nursing homes since 2001.

2015 marks the 10 year anniversary of an inquest into the deaths of two long-term care residents, in 2001.

Among the inquest jury’s 85 recommendations were a minimum care standard and improved staffing levels, which have never been implemented.
