City's partnership with Baylor University well underway

The partnership between North Bay and a university in Texas is moving forward.

Kevin Hutchison is with Invest North Bay.  

He went to school at Baylor University and that connection led to the partnership which will see Baylor students study North Bay’s economy and make recommendations on how the city can foster economic development.

Part 1 started last week when 4 students got a taste of North Bay and met with many people including city officials, business and First Nations leaders along with the education sector as well.

Hutchison says the students have returned to Baylor where they will begin work on a study on North Bay which will be presented to the city in late November when the students will return.

Part 2 will include up to 25 Baylor students studying North Bay.

Hutchison says Baylor is learning a lot about North Bay and Baylor is spreading the word about North Bay and what is happening here.
