Funding available through the Community Homelessness Prevention Initiative

The local District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board is re-introducing a heating grant for those who are at risk of homelessness.

A one-time grant to cover the costs of heating is available to eligible citizens and families.

The grant comes through Community Homelessness Prevention Initiative funding.

This is for residents who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

The heating grant is can cover maximum of $3,000 per benefit unit.

Homeowners and renters can apply to have expenses covered for wood, propane, oil, furnace repairs and more. This will be available until March 31st – or until the funding has been exhausted.
