(File photo) Should there be eight city councillors instead of ten?

That’s a question facing Council tonight (Monday) with Councillor Mac Bain set to bring a motion forward on the subject.

Chair of Engineering and Works Tanya Vrebosch says the motion recommends cutting two positions around the table during the 2018 municipal election.

She says “he relates it back to infrastructure deficit so it would be about $38,000 in savings.”

Other items on the agenda include a vote on the recommendations from the water rates committee.

Vrebosch says it has been a long process for that committee to get to this point.

She says “they’ve had many public meetings and there are a lot of good things coming out of it.”

As well, there’s a report on the burning by-law updates, possible changes in speed zones in school areas and a section of Airport Road and three public presentations scheduled.
