Hospital Donation Parkers A number of initiatives announced today to raise funds for the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation.

First, Parker’s Your Independent Grocer was able to raise $5,000 for the Our Hospital Walk/Run through the selling of “Flags of Gratitude” at their cash registers.

As well the Foundation is looking to raise $1.25-million for the Central Fetal Monitoring System, $600,000 for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit and $190,000 for the Green Light Laser for prostate surgery.

President and CEO of the North Bay Regional Health Centre Paul Heinrich says this is a time when they really need the communities support.

Officials say their focus this year is on family related programs. They had Brent Tremblay on hand to talk about how the hospital has helped his family. He says when his youngest son Simeon was born he had a rare heart defect, and thanks to those at the hospital, his son is alive today.
