Gardeners The Heritage Gardeners Friendship Garden Bulb Planting Ceremony took place earlier today (Wednesday).

This was to plant Dutch Tulips to make the 70th Anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands by the Canada during the World War Two.

700 red and white tulip bulbs were planted in one of the garden beds at the Waterfront. North Bay is one of 140 sites across the country to receive the tulips.

70 years ago 100,000 Dutch tulip bulbs were given to Canada as a symbol of appreciation and this event marks the 70th anniversary of this gift.

The garden will also be featured on the 2016 edition of www.canadasgardenroute.ca
