yyb world space weekLooking for business opportunities in the Space and Aerospace sector; that’s the goal for the city and Mayor Al McDonald during today’s Industry Day to kick of YYB World Space Week in North Bay.

The Mayor says hosting Space Week gives North Bay a chance to elevate their stature within this sector.

There are networking sessions and presentations all day at Canadore College’s Aviation Technology Campus.

Meantime, Education Day is tomorrow (Friday) with nearly 1,000 students getting involved.

They’ll be at the 22 Wing Fitness and Wellness Centre’s gym and the Canadian Forces Museum of Aerospace Defence taking part in a variety of self-discovery activities, featured displays, multimedia platforms and hear from guest speakers.

McDonald says the public can get involved during Community Day on Saturday by attending presentations at 22 Wing/CFB North Bay.  

Area residents can experience the same self-discovery activities, featured displays, multimedia platforms free of charge.

The evening includes a performance by Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth, at the Capitol Centre and end with a guided deep sky observing and sky tour.
