Double helping of Thanksgiving hockey for the Troops and Voodoos this weekend

The North Bay Battalion are coming off their first win of the season; it happened a week ago in a 5-4 victory over Sarnia.

Now the Troops gear up for two games on this holiday long weekend.

They’ll visit Sault Ste Marie tomorrow (Saturday) and host Mississauga on Monday.

Head Coach Stan Butler says early on everybody seems like a great team when they step onto the ice against the Troops.

He says “we’ve got to find a way to get better, I don’t know if there’s every an easy game in this league but where we are right now, where this team is regarding our injuries, we’re going to have a hard time playing anybody.”

In the NOJHL, the Powassan Voodoos look to continue their 7 game winning streak on home ice tonight (Friday).

The Voodoos are unbeaten so far this season.

They host Kirkland Lake at 7 o’clock at the Powassan Sportsplex.

Powassan is also home to Iroquois Falls on Saturday night at 7 pm.
