NU lakersA win and a draw yesterday for both Nipissing Lakers Soccer teams. 

Yesterday afternoon was an exciting home game for the Nipissing Lakers women’s soccer team.

The Lakers took on the Trent Excalibur and Delaney Borsato secured the first goal, then in just 10 minutes, Trent tied the game at 1.

Selena Innamorati then scored again for the Lakers to regain the lead, and Veteran Katie Koenjer scored the final goal, giving the Lakers a 3-1 win over the Excalibur.

Now the Lakers are even closer to a playoff spot, sitting one point below Toronto. Next up for the team is a road game in Toronto next weekend for games against Ryerson and Toronto.

 

The Nipissing Lakers men’s soccer team lost their winning momentum yesterday afternoon in a draw against the Trent ExcaliburFinal score for the game was 3-3.

Trent had opened up the scoring only 12 minutes into the game and it wasn’t until 17 minutes had passed that Jean-Michel Paulin, tied up the game.

Trent then retook the lead just before the halftime point. The second half then started off with Jamal Brown scoring a point for Nipissing, tying up the game once again.

Not wanting to stop there, Trent scored again, gaining back the lead, until Connor Speers scored with just 2 minutes left in the game.

Right now the Lakers are in fifth place and have lost 0 of the last 8 games they have played. Next up for the team is a couple of road games against Ryerson and Toronto next weekend.
