Bombardier production pause impacts 30 workers locally

Bombardier will finish their work on three C-415 water bombers in North Bay and will then “pause production” at their facility at the Airport Industrial Business Park.

Isabelle Gauthier is the Director of Communications at Bombardier and she says they have no new aircraft in the pipeline and therefore will not renew their lease at the North Bay facility.

She says they informed the workers at the local facility last April that the work would end in December.

Gauthier says this has an impact on about 30 workers locally.

She says overall they remain committed to developing and building these aircraft. Gauthier adds if the market turns she says they would re-open the possibility of bringing work back to North Bay.
