rethink tires A sports field, a park or a new walking path; those are some examples of community projects the Ontario Tire Stewardship is looking to fund.

Executive Director Andrew Horsman says they are once again offering the Community Renewal Fund to municipalities throughout the province.

The grant goes towards a community project that can be built or enhanced using recycled rubber. He says one great example of recycled rubber products is something called pour-in-place surfacing.

He says it’s the spongy surface that’s durable and one that’s impact absorbing making it very safe.

Horsman adds it is lower maintenance and can last longer than other surfaces.
