North Bay PoliceA 54 year old male has been charged with Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm and a pedestrian was hit last night in North Bay.

Police report the pedestrian was walking in the Second Avenue – Fraser Street area around 11pm last night where they were struck by a motor vehicle.

Witnesses say the vehicle fled the scene but they obtained a licence number.

Police followed up on that and located the driver and made an arrest.

The male is charged with Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle as well as Operation with over 80 mgs. of alcohol Causing Bodily Harm, and Failure to Stop at Scene of Accident.

The pedestrian was admitted to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
