Canadore facilityYou’ve heard about Canadore College’s iCamp campus and their 3D printer.

Evan Butler-Jones says they are taking that one step further with their iCamp 2.0 expansion.

He is the Applied Research Leader and he says they will be installing a 3D printer that can print metal objects.

Butler-Jones says the previous model printed in plastics – and this was in strong demand from industries who use the iCamp facility.

Butler-Jones says this should have an impact on the local economy.

Since opening iCamp in 2013 the centre has helped industry retain 16 jobs and create an additional 57 in the region’s economy.

Officials say the expansion should open in Spring of 2016.
