The results of the student vote relating to this weeks Federal election are in.

850,000 students across Canada cast ballots in the student vote, which also resulted in a Liberal majority government, just like the actual vote.

Here in Nipissing-Timiskaming, 3,412 students cast ballots in the educational election.

Liberal Anthony Rota was elected with about 47 percent of the student vote (1,630 votes).  

Next was Conservative incumbent Jay Aspin with 22 percent (757 votes), the NDP’s Kathleen Jodouin with 18 percent (620 votes) and the Green Party’s Nicole Peltier at just under 12 percent (405 votes).
