North Bay Police

The North Bay Police responded to 219 calls for service over the weekend, with seven people charged and arrested for various offences.

Those included assault with a weapon, breach of probation, driving over 80, impaired driving, possession of marijuana, and public intoxication.

(Locating female)

The North Bay Police Service are looking for the public’s help in locating an unidentified female.

Police say just after 7pm on Sunday, a concerned citizen contacted police to report a young female either jumped or was pushed out of a parked pick-up truck at the corner of Beattie and Bloem.

The citizen was walking her dog and asked if the female if she needed help but she refused assistance.

The female is described as white, between 16 to 18 years old, shoulder-length straight blonde or bleached hair, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7, approximately 100 pounds and last seen wearing a pink t-shirt, blue jeans and white hooded rain jacket.

Police would also like to speak to the owner of the vehicle – the pickup is described as older and scruffy looking, without a canopy or cover and dark in color.

(Arson)

The North Bay Police seek the public’s assistance in an Arson Investigation.

They say shortly after 3am on Sunday, police witnessed and put out a fire in the interior of a 2011 blue Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck.

The truck was parked on Norwood Avenue and if anyone has information regarding this fire they are asked to contact police.

(Assault)

A 25 year old woman from Barrie is facing charges from North Bay Police. Police say shortly after 7pm on Saturday, an argument broke out during a social gathering at a residence on Worthington Street West.

During the argument, police say the accused stabbed a female victim with a kitchen knife. The victim was taken to hospital, treated and released.

25 year old Katelynn Yakeley is charged with assault with a weapon and breach of probation.

North Bay Police have charged a 37-year old male with impaired driving.

This follows a call from a concerned citizen on Friday afternoon, in which the caller suspected observed a suspected impaired driver get into his vehicle in a parking lot on Algonquin Avenue.

Police arrested and charged the male driver near his place of residence with one count of impaired driving, one count of driving of 80 and three counts of breach of recognizance.

(Domestic)

A Callander Woman is facing charges after a report of a domestic assault. North Bay Police say it’s alleged a verbal argument between the accused and her common law spouse started around 9:30pm on Friday evening at their residence.

The argument turned violent when the accused physically assaulted the victim and threatened him with an edged weapon.

The 18 year old is charged with one count of assault with a weapon, one count of uttering threats and one count of assault.

The victim did not require medical treatment.

(Impaired MVC)

A 36 year old Callander man is charged following a motor vehicle collision on Friday evening.

It is alleged that at approximately 11:10pm the accused was travelling westbound on Highway 17 East, turned right onto O’Brien Street where he struck a telephone pole.

Police responded to the scene and arrested the male who is charged with one count of impaired driving as well as possession of marijuana and driving over 80.
