wastewater meetingTaking fluoride out of the drinking water will save the tax payers $50,000 in the Water and Waste-water Operating Budget.

It’s one of the changes the majority of council members agreed upon during their special committee meeting yesterday (Tuesday).

One person who was not in favour of that change is Chair of Engineering and Works Tanya Vrebosch.

She says the Medical Officer of Health has always supported keeping that chemical in the water for health benefits, especially for children.

Vrebosch says another change she doesn’t agree with deals with an increase in payment towards the capital investment.

These changes bring the total to an approximate budget of just over $20,900,000 which is a 2.82% increase over last year’s figures.

This still has to come forward for a full council vote.
