weather radar oct 28 730amA special weather statement continues for the North Bay area.

Environment Canada says we can expect rain heavy at times today with strong southerly winds developing this afternoon (Wednesday) gustintg up to 60 or 70 kilometres per hour.

The rain will taper to showers tomorrow (Thursday).

Meantime, the Conservation Authority has issued a watershed conditions statement with officials saying 25-30 millimetres of rain is expected in most areas over the next day or so.

They say some areas could get an additional 10-20 millimetres.

Officials say watercourses are low for this time of year right now but the expected rain could cause overbank conditions and minor flooding.

The Authority says that risk will increase if thunderstorms develop.

People are asked to monitor the condiitions and do their best to keep people and pets away from the water.
