pumpkin policeIf you’re still getting your home ready for Halloween tomorrow night (Saturday), the North Bay Police Service has some reminders on the do’s and don’ts of decorating.

Corporate Communications Coordinator Marie Lugli says you should make sure there aren’t any tripping hazards and everything should be well lit to avoid accidents.

For the older kids, tell your parents or guardians your plan such as where you’ll be going, what time you’ll be home and to have a fully charged cell phone.

Meantime, Lugli says when it comes to costumes, visibility is key.

She says makeup is a better option instead of masks.

As well, don’t let kids eat their treats until a parent or guardian inspects them.

Lugli adds drivers need to be even more aware on this night, because there will be a lot of trick or treaters out on area streets.
