Nipissing UniversityA mediator is joining the negotiating teams from Nipissing University and the Full-time Academic Staff Bargaining Unit (FASBU) in talks today (Friday).

In a release, the university says it’s committed to further discussion with the union to reach a fair and reasonable agreement.

Nipissing also says in event of a strike, all university offices will remain open and will continue to provide non-academic services.

In the meantime, they’ve set up a website, featuring a series of Frequently Asked Questions and will be updating the site as new information is available.

Also of note, the Nipissing University Faculty Association (NUFA) tweeted Thursday night “FASBU reaffirms mandate with 93% voting in favour of enpowering exec to call a strike.”

They also have a website set up involving the labour situation.

A strike deadline has been set for Monday.
