work to rule

Dozens of students at Land Of Lakes School in Burk’s Falls are protesting against their teachers Work To Rule campaign and the loss of their extracurriculars, which they say is unfair.

Grade 8 student Wynter Barry is one of them.

She says they wanted to have an impact so they left their classrooms.

Meantime, Kaleb Dunnett says they’re losing out on quite a bit.

Provincially, Education Minister Liz Sandals is reported to be “actively involved” in negotiations with the union representing public elementary teachers.

Meantime, a tentative contract agreement has been reached with the Canadian Union of Public Employees, ending a work-to-rule campaign by support staff in schools across the province.
