YMCA Peace WeekYMCA Peace Week had its official launch outside North Bay City Hall this afternoon.

People of all ages gathered for walk from North Bay City Hall to the North Bay YMCA.

On hand were students from the Alliance French Immersion Public School.

Their teacher Alyson Roynon says her message about peace to the students is a positive one especially in light of the recent events in Paris.

The principal of Alliance is Gisele Lynch. She is also the chair of the Y’s board.

She says teachers at the school wanted to support Peace Week bot also another event this week Stand Up To Bullying.

Lynch says they are promoting Peace Week this week at the school and have added an event a moment of reflection in light of the terrorist attacks in Paris.

She says the message is to be mindful of the attempts being made to promoter peace here and around the world.

Many more events are scheduled this week including the presentation of the YMCA Peace Medallions on Friday.
